Man pleads guilty after drunk driving causes fatal crash

A man from Washington who has been accused of criminal activity relating to a fatal car accident in 2015 has pleaded guilty to the indictments against him. The man, who was 21 years old at the time of the crash, will be sentenced to prison for hit and run, DUI and reckless driving.

Studies show that the number of drivers in Washington who use the drug has increased, but research conducted on behalf of AAA shows that measuring marijuana impairment can be flawed.

SCOTUS investigating penalties for blood alcohol test refusals

Washington motorists may be interested to learn that the U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments on April 20 against laws that make it a separate crime for drivers to refuse to take a blood alcohol test without getting a warrant first. Although Washington is not one of the 13 states that have such laws, all states will suspend licenses for failing to submit to such a test.
