Police chase leads to crashed Lamborghini

Washington residents may have hear about an incident in Edmonds involving a possible drunken driver and an accident that damaged a 2015 Lamborghini. During the Taste of Edmonds event that took place on Aug. 12, law enforcement authorities conducted safety emphasis patrols. At about 11:30 p.m., a sergeant saw a female passenger in the sports car leaning out the window with a beer.

The Lamborghini was in the middle of Main Street when the authorities tried to pull it over, but the motorist drove away instead. Multiple officers chased the sports car on 5th Avenue while it ran several lights and traveled through many city streets.

The authorities were concerned that a high-speed chase would endanger others, so they stopped following the vehicle. However, it was found because the Lamborghini rear-ended another vehicle. The Lamborghini was significantly damaged in the accident. The sports car was rented by the brother of the 23-year-old man driving the vehicle. This motorist faces charges for attempting to elude police and suspected DUI. The 20-year-old woman in the vehicle could be in trouble for being a minor in possession of alcohol.

Stories like this show how severe drunk driving charges can be as even cases without serious injuries can result in a felony DUI. A felony charge might occur if one has previous drunk driving convictions or if there is extensive property damage. Minors charged with alcohol related offenses also face particularly severe consequences. Penalties for drunk driving convictions could include jail time, fines, community service or a license suspension. This is why it can be advisable for people who are facing these types of charges to have experienced defense representation.
